Lahore: 24-12-2012: Nominated Punjab Governor Makhdoom Syed Ahmad Mahmood called on Pakistan Muslim League President Senator Ch Shujat Hussain and senior central leader and Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi at their residence here today.

On this occasion PML Khyber Pukhtoonkhwah President Syed Qasim Shah, former Provincial Minister Mian Imran Masood, Ch Shafaat Hussain, Mian Haroon Masood and Rasikh Elahi were also present.

Talking on this occasion, Makhdoom Ahmad Mahmood said "Our and your families are old Muslim Leaguers. My and your elders had close personal relations. My late father Makhdoom Hassan Mahmood greatly respected Ch Zahoor Elahi Shaheed and met him with great reverence and respect whereas I also have great respect and prestige of yours in my heart". He expressed the confidence that old relations between the two families will always remain.

The nominated Punjab Governor further said that he will try to perform his constitutional role in an appreciable manner.

Ch Shujat Hussain and Ch Parvez Elahi felicitated Makhdoom Ahmad Mahmood and said that they also highly appreciate the old and close relations between the two families.

Ch. Pervaiz Elahi, JI discuss IDPs crisis

LAHORE
JAMAAT-e-Islami (JI) Punjab Ameer Dr Syed Wasim Akhter along with a six-member delegation called on PML-Q Punjab President Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Saturday.

The meeting was held at the residence of Pervaiz Elahi. JI delegation comprised Zafar Jamal Baloch, Farhan Shaukat, Imran Zahoor, Nazeer Ahmed Janjua and Farooq Chohan.

PML-Q leaders, including Chaudhry Shafaat Hussain, Mian Imran Masood and Raja Basharat, were also present.

The meeting discussed the issue of internally displaced persons (IDPs).

The PML-Q and JI leaders urged the need to adopt a joint agenda to put and end to the prevailing crisis.

JI leader Dr Syed Wasim Akhter also asserted that the number of IDPs had reached three million and end of military operation had become necessary.
