rigging and theft of ballot papers which have proved right
Lahore
(December 05, 2012) Pakistan Muslim League (PML)
Central Information Secretary Senator Kamil Ali Agha has said that people of
Narowal by rejecting the father of "chief lota" in the Punjab
Assembly who was contesting on his son's vacant seat have inflicted detestable
defeat to" lota" politics of Sharif Brothers.
Congratulating the voters of PP-133
constituency in a statement here today, he said that they had foiled all
tactics of the Punjab Govt. and by punishing the stealers of their mandate; they
have proved that the people are quite sensible.
Senator Kamil Ali Agha said that
in the bye-elections real face of the N-League has been fully exposed which had
resorted to worst rigging in the electoral history to regain the seats vacated
by it. He posed a question that in Gujrat turnout was 20 per cent from 9 A. M. to
3 P. M. then how it had gone up to 45 per cent in just two hours between 3 P. M.
to 5 P. M. ? He said that we had made it amply clear during visit to different
polling stations along with media that the Punjab Govt. is using the
administration and police to change the elections results at every cost because
it has made the bye-elections a matter of life and death for itself.
He said that a PML delegation
during meeting with the Election Commission ten days ago had expressed its
apprehensions that the Punjab Govt. will also resort to rigging in its
traditional manner in the bye-elections as well and ballot papers will be
stolen because staff of the Punjab Education Department performs election duty.
He said that we had also informed the Election Commission that ballot papers
are stolen while being taken to the polling stations with the help of the
administration, police and Education Department staff on election duty and
pilferage is also done while the ballot boxes are being carried from the
polling stations and as such ballot papers should be taken to the polling
stations and brought back from there to the Returning Officers through the
Rangers but this was not implemented and the Election Commission was rendered
helpless before the Punjab Govt.
