LAHORE: The PML-Q leadership termed the provincial budget 2009-10 disappointing and merely rhetoric, a replica of previous budget, lacking innovation.
The PML-Q parliamentarians strongly criticised the provincial government for presenting a non-representative budget prepared by bureaucrats. They alleged that the provincial government had neither incorporated the recommendations of the finance minister nor parliamentarians in the budget.
Talking with The News, Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly Ch Zaheer and senior leader Ch Moonis Elahi said the government had not mentioned any mega project in the budget book. They claimed that the provincial the provincial government had tried to hide its administrative inefficiency through putting everything on terrorism. They alleged that the government could neither achieve the determined 60 million ton target of wheat procurement nor the farmers got the officially announced rate of their commodity.
