PML-Q president says bill to protect labourers’ rights to be tabled in National Assembly soon
ISLAMABAD: Security institutions of the country are being maligned under a conspiracy, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said on Friday.
Addressing a ceremony at the PML House to mark Labour Day, Shujaat said the Pakistan Army had always played a vital role for the integrity of the country. He said the security institutions were being criticised unnecessarily. “The military never kills innocent people,” he said, adding any criticism in this regard was unjustified.
Shujaat said his party would play the role of “the real opposition” in the coming days, adding the PML-Nawaz would soon join the federal cabinet.
Shujaat expressed concern over the situation in Swat and announced that a delegation of the PML-Q would be visiting the valley soon. He said his party wanted to visit Swat but it had not yet received clearance from the government, adding they would go even if the government did not grant them permission.
Labourers: He assured labourers that a constitutional bill envisaging protection of the their rights would soon be tabled in the National Assembly. He added that the PML-Q was working for the rights of labourers and would continue doing so, Online reported.
Also speaking on the occasion, PML-Q Secretary General Mushahid Hussain said the PML-Q was the only party that could be called the real opposition while other parties were busy negotiating for power. He criticised the PML-N for allegedly encouraging horse-trading.
Hussain said the government had failed to deliver and address the issues faced by the masses. He quoted US President Barack Obama that the Pakistan government had failed to solve the masses’ problems, adding the masses did not trust the government anymore.
