LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid Punjab chief Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Sunday urged all political forces and clerics to step up efforts to improve the image of Islam. Elahi said the deteriorating situation in Swat had been tarnishing the image of Islam and clerics from all schools of thought should come forward to present the religion’s true image to the world.
He also urged the government to convene an all-parties conference to address the Balochistan issue, adding that the government should take measures to minimise “foreign involvement” in the province. He said the government should also expose those trying to destabilise Balochistan, claiming that India had been carrying out heinous activities in the province.
